Ready — Set — Text!
After introducing inbound text messages at the end of August 2017, Yodelers and Yodelettes are now able to send outbound text messages as well.
By the end of August Yodel was able to receive messages and to reply to them. Now we went a step further and enabled also outbound text messaging.
This means you can now use your Yodel number to text customers as well!
This is what it looks like:
Use the command /yodel-text and add the number you desire to text.
A pop-up window will appear and you can write your text into it.
Make sure you select the correct number to be displayed to the receiver as the sender of the message. You can choose the number in the “Sending phone number” drop-down menu.
Click the “Send”-button and your text is on its way!
After you sent the message. It will be displayed on your Slack channel as shown above!
This feature is a great way to remind customers of your upcoming meetings!
Text messages have a 98% open rate, while email has only a 20% open rate. So this means your customers will more likely read that reminder and it won’t get lost in their email account.
Just give it a try and /yodel-text away!
